My new GCC
Well I searched hard for the past month for a mature cinnamon split yellow-side or pineapple male for Peanut, but didn't have any luck. I went back to the idea of just waiting for a baby to mature. I don't have him yet. He is eating on his own, but he still likes the formula at night, so he's probably not coming til next weekend. He is a cinnamon split to yellow-side and he's a cutie.

What a gorgeous boy. Congratulations
You could have knocked me down with a feather!!! Feathers With An Attitude is owned by my vets assistant Madelen! She's ever so nice, she's told me to go out and visit the aviary but I never have. So I take it if you live in Las Vegas she must be one of the biggest GCC breeders in the US?

Jaylene,
Did you get your new GC this past weekend? How are things going with him?

Well this is what ended up happening. When I posted this the bird was still on a feeding a day. Friday I was told he didn't take his feeding that day, but he wanted to give him a few days just to be sure he was eating well enough. Those few days past the weekend mark, so I won't be getting him until this weekend most likely. You'll know when I get him because there will be lots of pictures.

I have to have him shipped. There are so many parrots that are next to impossible to find in this area. Like I said, Peanut is the only mutation green cheek I have ever seen at all, and they said she was sent her from a california breeder. I wish I saw more birds. I wouldn't have any bird shipped to me if I could get it close by, but this is going to be the first cinnamon green cheek I've ever seen in my life.

Maybe I'm lucky then that birds are so hard to come by here. I do see birds in bad situations, but not often. Probably because I rarely find people who have birds, and a lot of the pet shops I've visited are actually pretty good with their birds.

I see alot of birds when I go to flea markets on the weekends.. and not just budgies and cockatiels either.. macaws, cockatoos, amazons, greys, rosellas, conures of all sorts.. Some sellers are pretty good but alot have cramped cages.. dirty water.. only sunflower seeds to eat.. no toys whatsoever.. and sometimes there are pigeons and other birds right next to them or in a cage on top or below.. it breaks my heart to see them sometimes.. its a sad situation because you just get the sence that the people don't care about the birds at all and just want the $$ .. I'd give them all a good home if I could..

Well here's the news. The breeder said he's fully weaned and ready to go. We are going to set up a shipping time, and he will be on his way. There'll be lots of pictures soon.
