Question That Christmas Tree Kitty Thing

Back on the subject of trees and cord chewing. Our new kitten has been up in the tree several times, chewing on cords, lights and ornaments. KatMom - where exactly do you spray that bitter apple stuff, all over the tree or just around the bottom?

Talking Everywhere !!!!

I spray that stuff like I am spraying a field !! On the Tree On the Ornaments (unless they are very expensive. Especially on the drop cords !!

KatMom

Every place but NOT inside the electric outlets...anything else is fair game.

Thanks KatMom! I worry myself to death about the cords and lights. Kitty Witty never messed with the cords, just the ornaments.

Talking I had one !!

I had a Yellow foster kitty a few years back.... Bit the cord and came out from under the TREE more fluffed out than I have ever seen any animal get.
The Phyllis Diller Look !!! Wheeew !! Right afterward....I found out through my friend that is some kind of Critter behaviorist in NY ....about Bitter Apple.
I was So relieved !!!! I don't want any fried Kitties ....EVER !!!
Good Luck !!

KatMom

PS you have to respray every other day or so... The smell will linger some but I refresh it ever so often.

speaking of christmas trees and kitties...

we've actually given up- since my boyfriend and i are both in grad school and are going home for the holiday anyway, we took the lights and garland off the tree. what's left is the most pathetic looking artificial tree in all of pittsburgh. so much for christmas decorating...

truman *loves* his new climbing post.

it's kind of cute, actually.

mr. truman

oh yes... he's quite the little kamikaze.

after SEVERAL hundred trips to the top of the tree, destroying ornaments in his path, we decided to just let him go. he's happy, we're happy... and no more worries about a fried truman.

not exactly a solution for other people, but for two 25yr old's without kids or family close by, it works.

What a spoiled little brat... His own personal christmass tree to climb & shred at will. I'm spoiling my two kittens with a cat tower/condo wich may or may not arrive by X-mass... I figure after I put it together, I can get rid of my DVD player & just watch them... High entertainment value.

That picture is too cute! Both my kitties curled up under the tree and went to sleep and it was the cutest thing. I need to remember to have a camara ready.

OMG Amanda.. that is soooo funny!! LOL

I remember the days!. The only baby I currently have is Dutchmans little feral kitty. She's still very wild so if she's not in a crate, we're holding her. But good luck... maybe 'too crazy has found a solution... her kitten redecorated her Christmas tree hahahahahaha

Amanda I too have given up. My cat has all the bottom branches off the tree (fake), the garland is a mess, I have ornaments without that silver hook holder on top and my brand new string of light has about 10 lights out in the middle of it. Maybe it has something to do with the bulb I found yesterday on the floor.

I give up too. I have no ornaments at the bottom of the tree and the lights are all hanging down. It reminds me of when the kids (the human kind) were very little and would fool with the tree. Well, actually that wasn't that long ago. This is the first year they haven't fooled with the tree. Now the fur baby is! Oh well....
