Exclamation Important! It's my little kitty's ribs...

Cookie is very energetic and active and playful, and she moves around a lot. Saturday was the first day she had ever been able to roam about outside of her usual room on our porch. Around my kitten Cookie's rib cage area, it feels as though a bone is out of place. A bump the size of a pea about, hard and squarish, is about 8 - 10 cm. behind her left front paw. I first noticed it last night after I had fed her. Everytime I pick her up or accidentally touch it, she mews very loudly in a pained, pitiful way, and tries to bite me. I am not sure what to do. Should I wait a few days before getting a vet's advice, or should I take her there now? I'm not sure I have enough money to pay for a vet bill.

Take her to a vet a.s.a.p. Put the vet bill on a charge card or work out a payment schedule with your vet. Most good vets will work out something with you if you are up front with them. Good Luck and let us know the outcome.

If she is in Pain....

Get her to a Vet .... It could be a cyst, a splintered rib edge,or it could just be badly bruised & inflammed from jumping off something. It's best to play it safe. Take her to a VET~ ASAP !! Better safe than Sorry
