Corgi doodles
My family is looking at getting our first dog. My husband & I both had dogs growing up, but this will be the first for our children. Due to allergies, we are looking for a doodle, and would prefer a Corgi doodle, but can't seem to find any. If anyone knows of any reputable breeders, please forward websites or contact info. Thanks!!

There are no reputable breeders of corgi/poodle mixes. Your best bet would be to look in a shelter for them.
Just because you mix a breed with a poodle does NOT mean it will be allergy friendly. In fact most of the time they are not, especially when the mix is with a heavy shedding/dander breed such as corgis (both cardis and pemmies).
I compiled a list of some allergy friendly breeds of many sizes here: http://forums.petlovers.com/vb/showthread.php?t=41414
I'd suggest having the one with the allergies meet with several of the different actual allergy friendly breeds to see if they react, some people might even react to these breeds as there are allergies to dander, saliva, and even urine.

HI and welcome to pet lovers. There is no such breed as a "doodle". People who create these mutts are not reputable breeders.
I agree with the above poster that you will find many mixed breeds to choose from at a shelter or rescue center. I hope you find a lovely dog who will be so happy to have a forever home with you and your family.

A "corgi doodle" is a corgi cross-bred with a poodle. A "doodle" isn't a breed.
Again, you will not find one single responsible, reputable breeder of these dogs, because the breeding of the corgi with the poodle is not responsible.
I encourage you to not create a market for this mix of breeds.

Posts like this make me cringe. I'm not against breeding necessarily, but breeders crossing different breeds to make "designer dogs" are in no way reputable. These are the same type of dogs people use to give away 15 years ago because Fido jumped the fence to go see Lassie while she was on her chain, in heat. Now people sell these ridiculous "designer dogs".....which is nothing more than a fancy title to make $1,500 a puppy.....or more. Please go to a shelter.

Agreed, if you want a dog with less of a chance of bothering allergies a mix with a poodle will not necessarily be any better than a purebred of some other breed. I'd look in to the shelters for poodles, or mixes already there that have the more poodle like hair. Also bichons, porteguese water dogs, etc. will be more allergy friendly. The good thing about adopting a dog from a shelter that is a mix or even a pure poodle or whatever is you know what fur they will have if they are already adults. If you buy a mix from a breeder you never know what they will actually turn out like. I don't even think I've heard of breeders mixing corgis and poodles. By the way most poodle mixes do turn out to look about the same and have tons of hair, so be ready for it to look like a poodle regardless of what its mixed with and keep up on brushing and grooming...A corgi poodle mix may just look like an ugly poodle (not saying either breed is ugly but the mix may be)
I don't think it is reputable to breed all these "doodle" mix breeds either, especially selling them for hundreds of dollars and even thousands, its rediculous, especially when you can get one from a shelter who is fixed, up to date on shots, possibly even trained and housebroken already for generally around $100.
