Movie Time! OT
Has anyone seen the new Transformers movie? My wife and I are thinking of hitting it up this holiday weekend.
If it's not that great, any recommendations? I haven't been to the theater in like 8 months, so expensive.

Go see UP! in 3D... It's great... Or Ice Age 3 in 3D if you've seen the first 2. The Hangover is really good too if you like a bit more crude comedy.
I heard Transformers 2 focuses more on the people than the robots and it's about how the kid is the hero.

Transformers 2 kicked the crap out of the first one! A definite theater must-see.

I recently saw the movie Pelham 1 2 3 with John Travolta and Denzel...it was chock full of action, and I really liked it. Maybe keep it on your list for one to see.

Shelter dogs aren't broken, they've simply experienced more life. If they were human, you would call them wise. They would be the one's with tales to tell, and stories to write. The one's dealt a bad hand and responded with courage. Do not pity a shelter dog, adopt one.

As long as you are a fan of the simplicity of the crash and bash cartoon, you'll love Transformers 2. Hubby and I saw it on opening night and loved every minute. I plan to go see Public Enemies this weekend, the move about John Dillinger. Everyone raves about UP and Pelham 123 as well. I think you have a lot of really good choices this weekend.

I'd love to make suggestions, but I rarely go see movies in theaters, I'm waiting for Halloween 2 to come out at the end of august, until then I doubt I'll go see anything. If you have a netflix subscription though, I can make some suggestions for online play, there's a couple great movies that I've noticed in the list. Actually I should ask if you like horror first, because that's what I love.

I can't even remember the last one that actually scared me. The Grudge, sadly, creeped me out, well not the whole movie, just the kid, creepy kids always bug me for some reason.

We love horror. My wife is a writer as well as a teacher and it's always suspense/thrill. We have Netflix too. Thanks to all for the recommendations!

All these are listed for online play on netflix :
Rockabilly Vampire (troma movie) it's one of my personal favorite, not scary at all, but entertaining, I actually have it on dvd.
Die You Zombie Bastards - That's one movie I'll always recommend, it's so funny, my husband and I own it on dvd, we saw it in a store and it looked so good we just had to pick it up.
Both Argento's Masters of Horror (Pelts and Jenifer) are on there.
My Name Is Bruce - If you like Bruce Campbell, that's a good one, I haven't seen the whole thing yet, I'm in the process of watching it (about halfway through) and so far it's great.
The Bad Seed - Not so much horror, but very interesting, it's a b&w movie from 1956 about a child serial killer
Otis - It's the next one I'm going to watch, I've been hearing very good things about it.
The Serpent and the Rainbow - need i say more?

Me & Kenny are hopefully going to see Ice Age 3 on Sunday. The last movie we actually saw in the theater was..um..The Simpsons Movie? That sounds about right. Plus Kenny wants to see Halloween 2 when it comes out, but he said I can see something else, because I don't like horror at all. I chose something right away - the new Miyazaki film, Ponyo.

I wish I could advise, but sadly the last thing I saw in theatres was Sweeney Todd! I need to get out more!

The last movies I went to see were Angels & Demons and The Hangover. Angels & Demons was ok, not great but better than the DaVinci Code. As for The Hangover, its maybe too crude to be for everyone but I laughed from beginning to end.
