Good Kitty Gone Bad!

So i did my cat chores at the humane society today and hung out with my kitties. Hocus, a lovely cuddlebug that just wants a good snuggle was pawing his way up my leg like usual so i lifted him up... WELL... Not a good idea. He went ballistic! Chewed up my arm and gave me a couple scratches... All the bite marks are red and a bit raised right now, but they usually go down by the next day.

Here's some pics of my war wounds...

Don't worry, i made a note for people to check on him to see if something is up healthwise... He's usually such a lovely kitty!

That's odd. Hope he's alright. Maybe he's just feeling the stress of cattery life all of a sudden. Or was it more of a frenzied play than a purposeful attack? Or was it more of a an attempt to wriggle free?

I hope he checks out okay and finds a loving home quickly.

He was fine shortly after. It might have been play but his ears would go flat back as he was sinking his fangs into my wrist. And i never hold cats for longer than it takes to get them to somewhere to put them down, they're too unpredictable... I had set him up on the counter where he likes to sit and observe the world from.

I'm really not a cat person, they're to bipolar for my liking. I'd take the dogs any day, even Frankie type dogs!

He really did a number on your arm with his teeth. Keep those bite marks covered with some Neosporin, every once in a while I'll have a small bite that gets a little infected out of the blue. It would be good to note in his file at the shelter to watch for that behavior again as he may not be a good pick for a home with children.

Oh, cat maulings. I've had my fair share...and in my line of business, I know there's more to come.

Lots of cats don't like being picked up, even by people they know. But if you've picked him up before, it's odd. Maybe he's not feeling so great today.
And OUCH!
