A happy ending for Pi.

Pi went to her forever home today!
On a whim a month ago I posted a few ads on line about Pi. I did not expect to get any real responses but thought I would give it a try. Amazingly I found a woman who sounded perfect! She has 2 Ekkies and a red lored amazon who are all bird friendly. She also works at a bird sanctuary, the one I was thinking of sending Pi to. We talked for a week and I went ahead and did a home visit. The birds have huge cages that are never shut. There are many play areas and the birds just hang out with each other. They had fresh food and she bakes for them all the time. She has a cage out side where they chill when the weather is nice she even lets them bath in rain!
So we spent the last three weeks talking and we decided to go ahead with the adoption.
Today we packed Pi up and drove the hour to her new home. I stayed to help set up her cage and chat about birds for awhile. Pi already has a vet appointment set for next week and her new owner said she will keep me updated on her progress.
I feel very good about this and know it was for the best. Pi will finally just get to be a bird

As updates on Pi are sent to me I will be sure to post them.

That's wonderful news. I don't remember Pi though. What kind of bird is she?

I don't either know Pi's story. If there is a thread about her can you give us the link to it? Or just retell the story? thanks.

thanks for the link. I had tears in my eyes reading it. You are such a hero!

Did you rescue her with the intent to foster her until a home could be found or did you decide after she came home that she would be happier in another home? When did you have your baby?Sorry about all the questions, I'm just interested is all.

Now I remember! If this bird is now in the perfect home, then I'm happy for you and Pi. What made you decide to rehome her, her was that in your mind from the day you rescued her? D

Do you have any photos? I'm sure there's many here who have never seen a Pionus.

I'm sorry I wasn't more clear in my original post. She was just so common place for me I didn't think twice about no one else knowing who she is
I had hoped to keep her but from the beginning thought she was going to be a foster I just wasn't going to let her go until the right home came along. To be honest I didn't think that home would come along so soon.
I didn't even think of taking pictures but I'm sure her new owner will send me a few after Pi settles in.
