Talking Learning the ropes...

Learning the ropes...or should I say perches that is. Baby #2 in my clutch of lovebirds is starting to become very adventerous and is coming out of the nestbox. He has now learned to jump from the nestbox perch to the closest perch from the box. Well, while he was examining the one perch he came upon the swing and boyyy did that intrigue his interest! He streched as far as he could to grab the swing's perch with his beak and brought it as close as he could...well, then he attempted to climb ONTO the swing...bad idea. Here he was, doing the birdy splits with his beak and one foot on the swing and his other foot on the imobile perch. Well, along comes mommy and she tries to help by biting the foot that's NOT on the swing as if to say "Come on, come on! Get on already!" He all the sudden realizes he's in QUITE the predicament and barely catches his balance back on the imobile perch before almost falling beak first onto the floor. I doubt he'll be trying that again any time soon!

Thanks for sharing that! It made my laugh. I think I could sit and watch my birds all day and never get bored. They're all so entertaining!
