Hi Birdgirl,
Here is a link to a lot of airlines that will ship live animals.
http://www.puppydogweb.com/articles/shipping.htm
Also you could go to http://www.fedex.com and search for live animals to get their rules on the shipping of live animals. You may get lucky and find a way to have that bird shipped directly to you.

It's possible to ship them, but then you end up paying about $100 for it anyway.

Does the bird come with a cage???

If so the shipping may be a good investment.

...but then you have to ship the cage, too, which would cost more. I'm pretty sure that the birds have to be shipped in certain airline carriers, not just any size cage or carrier.

I do shipping and receiving at work. I will speak to the ups guy about your options for moving a cage. You may be able to ship it for an extra 20 dollars.

Then that wouldn't be bad. You can hardly ever get a cage for $120. (I'm using the shipping price for the cage)

To ship a cage all you have to do is put it in a box or take it apart if it is huge, however for a lovebird it cannot be that big. Take it to a ups location and they will charge you about 15 dollars to ship it over the ground. Next day air is very expensive so I would recomend ground. It should not take more than a few days to get there. So if you use an airline to ship the bird, you are only looking at about 120 dollars to get the bird.

Yeah, I don't know a single place where you can get a lovebird with cage for that price.
