Exclamation Paco situation, continues...popcorn park..

Why cant people understand that a bird in the parrot family is as smart as a 5 year old child, basically never forgets what happeneds to it. Paco deserves better, staying trapped up in a cage is like a torturing unit to him! It dosen't matter how many toys he has, or how big his cage is, and how members of popcorn park, plays with Paco while he is in the cage!!! The bird needs quality time on the OUTSIDE!!! A bird can be tamed even a semi owned bird. Try to find a home for Paco John or Lynne or whoever popcorn park staff is reading this!!!!!!! If you wont let him go for free, will you take cash? If so, how much......

Awe Dude....you're the best.

Thanks for caring so much for Paco. He needs you, too.

Very well said Casegura!.

I also have a Scarlet Macaw who was cage bound prior to coming to live with us. He was agressive and had major behavioral problems. He could not be handled and would attack to draw blood if anyone got near him. We've had him 4 months now and have seen a big change in him. He can now be handled and is not the nervous, insecure, aggressive bird he used to be. He still bites his own legs now and then but its getting better. It's alot of work... BUT IT CAN BE DONE. We started by letting him out of his cage during the day.... what a difference!. There is hope in every situation... we can never give up... we owe it to them, after all.. we are the ones who put them in these situations.

So nice to hear from you Casegura! You expressed so eloquently why Paco deserves so much more. I hope John reads it!

I am also glad to hear that Maddy is doing so well - was wondering about how he was doing.

Hope you continue to visit us here and share what is new with you and your flock!

Casegura......so good to hear from you. I am happy you are all doing well, especially Maddy. Glad Tina is doing great, too.

Good luck with the Rose Breasted Cockatoo....sounds like a challenge, but knowing you, you will be up to it.

Your words about the Paco situation are very well put. Yes, he definitely needs rehab. And you certainly know alot about rehabilitating the LARGE Birds....Crazeemama does, too.

All your suggestions were great and I hope John will read them.

Thanks so much Casegura for your concern.
