my thoughts are that if you put away money each month for your pet, then when an emergency comes up, you can afford it and the vet doctor would rather be paid by you than some stupid insurance company trying to make another buck off of people. yeah let's all get pet insurance so the insurance company can put away OUR money so they can profit from it, and then when you need the insurance company to pay for the services rendered, the claim is denied due to "limitations and exclusions", or they sit on the claim just so they can make extra money while waiting to pay.

I wholeheartedly agree with Teri. Putting away a nest egg each month for our beloved pets is better.

I know several cases,( my sister's dog is one), where pets were dropped by the insurance company when they reach the age of 8-10 yrs. Isn't it true our pets need the insurance more as they age...hip problems, liver problems, etc.

Yes, teri, I would rather put a little away each month to insure my birds can get the treatment they need when they need it.

I agree with you guys. And you know how frustrating insurance companies can be. Oh by the way, when did this site start becoming an advertising site? If I recall correctly, a newbie was grieving over a lost pet and everyone was giving their sympathies and don't you know, here comes an advertisment for pet insurance. I personally thought it was more than a little tacky.
