Meet Up Groups/Specialty Groups

I know some of you have certain dog groups you meet up with to do things with, usually training. Becky has her Schultzhund i know that at least.

I want to start up something in the city with the Pugs out there, i probably won't start anything up until spring since winter gets really cold and snowy and we can't really do much outside in that weather. I don't really know how to start one up. Obviously finding out if there is interest is first, i know a few Pug clients that would LOVE to have a group and i've talked to them about it actually. Then next would be finding places we could hold a meet up, which is a little harder...

Anyways...

Anything you guys think would be important to have in place? Some rules would be cleaning up after your dog, no feeding other peoples' dogs in case of allergies or intolerances, open to puppies older than 6 months, no dogs in season, basic training recommended but not required, maybe a small fee per person for a monthlyish membership? Anything left over is donated to pug rescue or humane society?

It's still in the early stages of planning so i'm just taking ideas and brainstorming y'know

Maybe we could have the first pug agility team if enough people are interested in committing to learn agility! Or even just have a team of pug people to do charity walks or parade stuff. I just really wanna network with some other Pug people!

you know what may be a cool idea, is if your little pug group offered standard obedience classes for young pugs/pug owners

o0oh and you could do a pug of the month and have the pug mom/dad send out little like news articles with pictures of the chosen pug on them to all your other pug people

what about having your pugs in santa suits visiting elderly homes for christmas time

you could really have a lot of fun with this..
