one other thing Becky touched on briefly: whenever you have unwanted behavior from a parrot, don't even consider using a water bottle to squirt your bird. It is a weapon, and due to that, my Mz. Twiggy became a self mutalating plucker. She's bare chested, bare across the wings and down her legs. Figure out what's wrong, the issue the bird has before doing stuff like that. Twigs perches were all taken down, and yummy treats didn't happen any more.
Her problem? Jealous over a new baby! The family refused to teach Twig that the baby was hers to, so after 7 happy years with her owner, the water bottle was used extensively, obviously peppered by it. Even a mist sent her running for her hut. She's just now getting to a point she accepts it but she's still scared, and although I'd normanlly never suggest it. You use a water bottle to correct the parrot behavior you deserve to be knocked on the head with the water bottle, and squirted full in the face until you can't stand it either.
Why take down the perches? Don't people understand that the perches are escapes from people? The higher than you doesn't apply. In some cases it may but I don't agree. And good thing I didn't meet the real owner or her ears would have been burning.
but yes, you must adjust living with the parrots, put up with holes in your clothes, they have beaks. Nice clothes if you forget you forget and they are bird fodder. If anything, love your bird no matter if they draw blood or not, and in my case right now I've got an anke biter but I'm sure he'll stop with the right care. so never use a water bottle or anything as a weapon against your birds figure out the behavior.
