How're things going now Pip? Monkey has been on the mdes for three weeks, right? Any improvement?

Didn't you say you changed his diet too? How's that going?

Hi everyone, sorry not been on for a while, we were in Croydon last weekend then had Ry's family here all week so been busy hosting etc,am knackered lol.

On the whole we feel Monkey has made progress. His short wee wee walk route he is hardly stopping on at all now, and we have got nearer the park, yesterday making it through the gate but no further!

His diet is working and his poos are much firmer and he is really enjoying his new food and new treats too!

At home he is more back to his playful talkative old self with generally more confidence.

It's a slow process but so worthwhile and we shall keep going with it and of course keep you all in the loop.

Thanks so much, Pip xxx

Thanks for the update, Pip. Any progress is good, slow doesn't matter. What else do you have with the sweet boy but time, after all. I'm so glad Monkey ended up with you.

xx

senti is on a distinguished road
Hope you don't mind me adding to this thread, I am new here and don't know my way around yet.. but would like to say, Please don't try to reassure you dog when he becomes upset with the sound.. this will make him feel like there is something to be worried about.. take the happy approach, buzz past him if he's hiding under the bed to make sure he's ok and just be your normal self... then hopefully he will eventually find the terror sounds to be normal... plus do all the other things you have been recommended.

My first saluki was very sound sensitive and she learned to control her fear to a point.. so do understand what your going through. We found beef flavoured and cheese flavoured food would make her a lot more fearful. Would be worth looking to see if he reacts less or more with different kinds of foods & treats.
