Angel is running on 4 legs again
Angel caught the new and improved strain of whatever bug it is and died with pneumonia like symptoms within 48 hours, despite treatment. She was barely awake for most of the illness and died peacefully, I guess the only suffering was having antibiotics forced down her.
I am so busy trying to keep up with every one else's meds and keeping sick cats away from so far healthy ones that it hasn't really sunk in yet. Probably a good thing, she has been with me for a while, and we went through a lot to get her this far.

Oh Jennie! I'm so sorry! Angel had a wonderful life with you, I remember her story. I'm so sorry. She's in good company up there at the Bridge. xx
(I don't remember reading about a bug going round your cats is there a thread?)

I have a feeling I will be using this section a few times more before all is said and done. Most likely I brought the virus home on my clothes from volunteering at the shelter, but when Hunter (the prodigal cat) returned from wherever he has spent the last 2 1/2 months he also had it, so it would have reached here sooner or later anyway....

He walked up the drive yowling right at the start of all this, when Jesse was the only cat sick. I didn't worry too much when it was Jesse as he has always been prone to sickness, just filled his food with Amoxxi and isolated him from the others.
Hunter was starved to barely 7 pounds from his original 14. Don't know if he was trapped somewhere that had enough rodents to keep him alive, or if some hoarder freak had him, there is rumoured to be one in the area. Or if he slept in the bed of a truck and wound up having to come a long way home, but he showed up in pitiful shape. Ate like crazy the first day then quit, took him to the vet for a day on fluids and lots of drugs, turned out he had the same bug the others started getting a few days later.
He's back up to about 10 or 11 pounds now, ventured out of the bathroom today for the first time. He is starting to show his age, hopefully this will slow him down enough that he doesn't beat us to the door anymore.
