I saw him on my friends facebook and I knew I had to have him. He's a double merle australian shepherd he was born blind because of bad breeding. Hes about 4 months old and is in a foster home and doing well. Just waiting for them to review my application. I really hope they pick me!!

Hope they select you. All my "pups" have been rescues, from ages 1 to 15.

All rescue animals are awesome, but special needs rescue's are even awesomer! Good luck, I hope you get him.

Thanks guys. I get to meet him next Saturday!!!!! Ive only seen pictures of him. They want to meet mey dogs and see my house as far as yard. Do you think 250 is reasonable for adoption fee?

Yes, I do, a high fee like that is not only to cover previous care, but to ensure the rescue can continue to provide care to other needy animals. It also weeds out the creeps.

Just BE SURE this is a rescue/foster situation, not an unscrupulous "breeder", setting themselves up to look like a rescue, to get money for their unethical practices and to make the "mistakes" pay, too.

Ask to see proof of their 501(c)(3) status.

Now, after all my dire warnings, all paws crossed that the visit goes well!

Thanks Special. I'm not complaining about the money but I wasn't sure what most rescues charge as far as an adoption fee.

A friend of mine works for the rescue so I know its a rescue. They also go to different venues and have lots of fund raisers. I'm so excited but don't want to get my hopes up too high.

That's great that you are so willing to rescue and adopt. It is a very noble way to save a life and, even though the pet has a disability, will still have unconditional love for you. Enjoy the time together it will go back fast!
