Blue Heeler Help
So I've had my Blue Heeler since March (she is a rescue) and when I first got her she was super shy and wouldnt come anywhere near me, but now shes opened up a bit. The problems I have with her though I cant seem to find any answers/solutions so I thought maybe some one here might be able to help. My first one is that she is still afraid to come to me even though she sleeps with me and sits on the couch with me, but if I call her she runs away or even if I walk near her she runs away (i may not even be trying to pet her I may just have to walk towards her to get where I needed to go). I know it takes patience and time but why is she ok to sleep with me and snuggle but if I call her shes afraid?
My other problem is with her eating habits. She gets fed twice (breakfast and dinner) and when she eats she takes a few pieces of food from the bowl walks around the room and drops them places and eats them there. How can I get her to stop doing this? She makes a huge mess with her food bits everywhere which is not so fun to step on when I get up in the middle of the night haha. Any ideas?
Also any ideas on how I might be able to train her when she wont take treats or praise as rewards? Ive tried all types of high value food (chicken hot dog bits cheese etc) and I cant praise her for doing something right when she runs away....any ideas?
Thanks for the help!
