What's your favorite charity for pets?

Mine is Help-A-Pet. I've been aware of them for several years now and I like the fact that 100% of donations go to the cause (zero percent goes to administration and overhead, which to me shows that the people there are committed to the cause rather than making a business out of it). They're 501-C-3 and help mainly dogs and cats.

What other good animal charities are there that you have personal experience with? What do you like about them?

Are there any charities you feel are not worthy of patronage?

I donate my time to my local Humane Society. Money is all well and good, but they need people to work there more than anything.

I wouldn't suggest anyone give to PETA. They're very underhanded and sneaky and i consider them more of a terrorist group than an animal welfare group. They want to eradicate household pets.

My favorite charities are the local animal shelter in my city and the humane society in the city next to us. I like giving my money locally.

The HSUS. One of my friends is an investigator and the work they do is wonderful.

I also contribute to a couple of the local rescues as well.

My local animal shelter is my favorite charity, for sure because I get to see the results of my donations!

I donate to the Toronto Street Cat Rescue, Trinity of Hope and the WWF when I have some spare $.

When I was younger I used to donate to PeTA, but since learning more about the organization I have to second Mandy's sentiments, don't do it!

I know it's not a pet charity, but I've always given to one or two wild life funds, I usually pick one that works with parrots. For me, losing our wildlife is one of the biggest tragedies.

I've also given to the Humane Society.

its not exactly a pet charity but my favourite is the Born Free Foundation, they do so much to conserve wildlife in the wild and rescue individual animals living in appaling conditions in captivity
