R.I.P. Kenny P.

I woke up this morning to find my beloved betta fish had passed away in the night. I've kept bettas for years now, and I've loved them all, but this was by far my favorite I've ever had. Most bettas I've had spend their time laying on the gravel immobile, but this was was the nosiest fish I've ever saw. He followed every move I made and if I got too close to his tank he'd swim to the top and flail his little fins around. I named him Kenny Powers because of his ego and attitude and I will miss talking to him very much. No one else I've told of his passing today seems to understand - He's just a fish, you know? Ah well, I posted this here because I know that you all understand that a loss is a loss, even if it's "just a fish".

awl, sorry about Kenny Powers.... well you know that we understand here... don't worry about what "the other people" say,,, a loss is a loss... a friend is a friend, no matter what kind of "body" it has... we have our own daily routines and they are a BIG part of it.. and a part of our families...

I think Christy has put it so well, and that is why this forum is so good, because it's full of people who understand how much a loss of a friend hurts, no matter what species.

I'm so sorry, Amy. You have my heartfelt sympathy. Sounds like he was a special little fella, and I'm glad he spent his life with you, who truly cared for him, instead of someone who saw him as nothing worth grieving over, as so many other fish sadly do.

Thanks for all of you kind words - They are much appreciated and as always, it's nice to feel understood. My little fish saw me through a lot of hard times and he was my friend, even if he couldn't talk to me. ♥

- some times that is the best kind of friend - those that can't talk back to you, ha. you were able to talk to him; express your feelings, concerns, ideas, but over all he was there for you.. no matter what.. I don't know what I would do without Ollie and Symen, they are my world..
