Update on Loki!

Finally after calling 3 vet offices in the area we found one that takes care of birds! We rushed Loki there and were told that we are good bird Mom and Dad. The vet took a quick look at her and decided that it is a virus and informed us that is was not from anything toxic. She said Loki was very thin and that we did an absolute wonderful job at keeping her alive until we found someone to help us with her. They hospitalized her and will be giving her fluids and antibiotics. The vet said we ain't outta the woods yet as far as recovery, but she will know more in the morning. She said, "let's get some fluids in her and get her weight up and we will go from there." We did see a little improvement this morning, Loki was able to call out to our other cockatiel soon as she heard him. We had been giving her honey water Friday and Saturday then changed her over to birdy formula on Sunday. So there was a tiny bit of improvement...but not enuf to keep her outta the woods. Please continue to pray for her and her recovery! Thanks so much ya'll!

It's great that she's doing better, and I hope so much that she continues to show improvement. Fingers firmly crossed. x

Update on Loki!

Called the Vet right away this morning to see how our baby girl is doing. Great news! She was a little bit stronger and is taking the antibiotics and fluids very well. Vet said she really isn't outta the woods yet...so to speak...and that they will be keeping her for several more days. This vet bill is gonna be outrageous, but there is not cost too high to keep our baby girl alive and well! You can't put a price on life...Will be posting updates daily to let ya'll know how she's doing. Thank you so very much for all your prayers, it's greatly appreciated! God bless you and the little creatures that make us so happy!
