I don't think it's normal, no. What is it that she's throwing up? Undigested food? How often is she throwing up? When did this start? Has she been losing weight or condition? Does she seem okay in herself?

I'd suggest you take her to the vet as soon as you can, and have them give her a good check over, senior blood work done, etc., to be on the safe side. Explain to them what she's doing.

Good luck, I hope she's okay, keep us posted.

yeah she throws up sometimes undigested food and sometimes digested food and she tries to eat it but if im there i move her away...she throws up maybe once a week or sometimes twice a week. she was at the vet's 3 weeks ago and they did a full blood work on her and she is 100% healthy, not she isnt losing weight she looks the same and acts the same she pretty much does everything like she always does except this weird thing that she is eating her vomit so i was just wondering what that was all about....so i'm still confused since she just had her blood work done and i can't afford to take her back to do blood work again cuz she was absolutely healthy 3 weeks ago :-(

Blood work doesn't show everything. Such as a food intolerance. Nor would it show if she has a tumor somewhere, but since she is not losing weight I would not be worrying about that right now.

Usually this kind of regurgitation can be solved by a diet change. What are you feeding her?

Actually I think you are right about the food I just changed her food and I think that can be the cause of it cuz she barley ever threw up when i fed her purina cat chow, the store ran out of Purina cat chow so i was desperate to get her food cuz i ran out so i got her Friskies, so I will be changing her food back to pruina. thank you!!! :-)

I was actually thinking more along the lines of putting her on a BETTER diet. More specifically a canned food diet. Purina and Friskies are both grain heavy foods, and a cat's body is not designed to process grains.

Cats need to get their protein and nutrients from meat, and they need to get their moisture from their food. Switching her to a canned diet will greatly improve her overall health. Preferably a diet that is grain, fruit and vegetable free, but almost any canned is better than even a high quality grain free dry, and Purina and Friskies products are not high quality anything.

Friskies is Purina, actually.
