One of my birds was trying to get to my applesauce sweetened with Splenda. She didn't get any, but it got me wondering: Is Splenda toxic to birds and other animals like apartame is? Has anyone heard anything about this? I know it's made from sugar. Since I'm diabetic, I buy a lot things with Splenda in it. Just curious.

    I wouldn't think anything......

so highly refined, would be *great* for any bird. I suppose a bite might not be so bad..... Perhaps you could convert to the all natural applesauce? After awhile, your perception of what is *sweet* changes and it does taste sweet!
She was not quite what you would call refined. She was not quite what you would call unrefined. She was the kind of person that keeps a parrot. - Mark Twain
