After lots of labs and bloodowork we determined it was her liver. It took a while but we finally got her meds right and changed her diet and I'm proud to say she is back up to 62.5lbs!! That is still a little light compared to what she used to be, but I'm so glad she is healthy again! I just wanted to share my experience in case anyone else is dealing with liver issues out there. There is hope and you can deal with it and bring your babies back to health!

We got a party coming up and I was going to dye Sammy and Flips hair for it during grooming. Problem is all the dyes I have seen have NOT been tested on animals. They even say on the side "not tested on animals". This really concerns me because I dont want to hurt their skin or have their hair fall out. The ones that dont say if it is animal safe I call and the company says they dont test on animals. Does anyone have or know of a temporary dye that HAS been tested on animals?

When I get home, my 4 year old pomeranian doesnt care at all. I have to go after him, pull him from under the couch and pet him. However, he hates it when I leave, he barks a lot and all. Once I travelled for 15 days, left him at a pet shop hotel, when i got him home he had that careless look on his face, im sure he wouldnt have minded staying there for a longer time. When I wake up its the same thing, I always miss him so I pet him the first thing in the morning, but he doesnt care, and sometimes even seems not to like to be bothered. I live with my mother, she is the one who feeds him, but he acts equally towards us. Its different with strangers though, he absolutely loves and throws a party to every single stranger that gets in my home. This makes me jealous. I have tried to gain his affection by giving him treats, but it doesnt work... I have always suspected that he doesnt love me at all. I am very sad, am I doing something wrong? Should I give him the cold shoulder? Please help!

my cat is 2 years old and had 4 kittens on friday 11th may sadly they have all died.

when she had them she had cleaned them all up eaten all the placentas and they were all alive but she wouldnt go near them.

i was having to put her in the box and she would lay down and allow me to latch them on to her and feed, they were always cold so i was putting warm towels and blankets in with them and had a basking light on them too.

on saturday evening i checked them and sadly one had died so i removed it and changed all the bedding to remove the smell of the dead one.

sunday the remaining 3 were ok i was helping mum feed, all was ok sunday evening 2 had died so again i removed them and changed the bedding again.

the final kitten seemed to be getting bigger but i kept a close eye on it checking every hour and latching it on for a little feed.

monday evening i did the final check before going to bed and all was ok kitten was a bit cold so i moved the basking light closer and got mum in there to feed, 20 minutes later we lost the final kitten.

Did they have an illness i couldnt detect but mummy cat could hense she left them and didnt want to waste energy knowing it wasnt worth it?

Also how long now untill i can get her spayed? is it safe while she still has milk?

Hi Pet Lovers!

I'm working on a project for school that aims to help local, over crowded, animal shelters. As fellow pet lovers, you all know how sad it is when animals have to be turned away from crowded shelters.

I'm working on a concept that should help alleviate the animal shelters by temporarily providing them with shelter. Before I can start the project, I would need to collect more data.

Here's a very simple 7-question survey that I would like people without pets, but would want to own pets to answer:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8SYBMC3

The survey is completely anonymous and I promise all data will be kept private.

Thank you all in advance!

-Colin

Thank heavens none ever got to my birds, bug bites may or may not have been defatal, but definately paiis alnful for our winged angels.

It is ao lso remember to have an assessor of a home you may buy check thouroughly for pests...

Once I found out, there yetwas no way I was going to buy that house! Better yet Iwas gateful that my honey got an out of area job, and was extreamly grateful we moved.

So always check the bottoms of the cages on a daily basis.

Hi all,

My girlfriend and I have a 1 year old tom cat, who for 90% of the time, is a soft, loving and beautiful pet. The other 10% however he is a attacking menace!

He's just been neutered (literally 4 days ago) and I am hoping this will calm him down, but so far I've seen little difference in his behaviour, as the fresh bite marks on my arm will testify.

He will be nice one moment, and then the devil eyes will appear and he will delight in feasting upon our arms and legs - and on occasion, launching at our heads.

He's an indoors cat at present, which I reckon will have something to do with it. We are thinking of letting him outside soon (we were waiting for him to be neutered). We are still a little nervous about this as we live in an urban area with a busy one-way street outside.

Is there anyone here that has managed to curb such behavior? And if so, how have you achieved it?

Many thanks

:)
