My Mother and I live in California and are looking at moving to Arizonia. We have dogs and cats. What would be the best and lest harmeful/emotional damging way to transport our loved ones when we move? Any ideas?

Hi Missymiss, the only thing I can suggest is to rent a van and drive them to Arizona. You can talk to them if they seem upset. I would also move any delicate things the same way, like our computer! You know how computers get, LOL!

Best of luck with your move and I hope you keep in touch with us with updates.

When I moved to AZ from California a year or so ago, we wented a U-HAUL van and put EVERYTHING in there. We put the kitties in a littel travel kennel with a sheet over it, in case they got motion sick or something. Same with the bird. Afterward, they were just fine. Good luck on your move!!

Nope, I grew up in Cali, born an' raised! lol I lived in Malibu, it's right outside of LA (about half hour or so- with no traffic [yeah, right] lol) but no the animals stayed right in the middle of the driver seat and passenger seat. I wanted to make sure I could always check up on them- they did great, Kit (cockatiel) was so excited he could hardly stand it lmao.

My sister-in-law moved from CA to Idaho... and took along her 3 cats. She transported them separately in large crates in the back of her car. They did great. You could also ask a Vet about giving them a mild sedative... though personally, I've never had to do this, I know of people who have and the animals were fine.
Good luck on the move :)
