My Bergie seems to be having nighmares when she sleeps. She twitches and whines. I was beginning to question if these were seizures. When I would go near her or say her name she looks at me but her eyes appear to be glazed over or rolled up past her lids. The only thing keeping me from thinking these are seizures if the fact that she wakes up right away and seems fine and happy. Is it possible for a puppy to have nightmares like us?

I need to add that this occured earlier when we first got Bergie at 2 months of age. She has not had an episode of this kind in over approx. 2 weeks. Is it possible that she was dreaming of her sisters and brothers and stressed from the change over? If this is seems weird I am sorry bit I am curious.

Thanks,
Sandy

it's normal for pups to dream. Don't stress over it! You're a great puppy mom I can tell. ;)

Diego is 5 now and he still dreams. He kicks me yelps, occasinally growls and whines in his sleep. Which I defintly prefer over his snoring. I know how you feel though, sometimes I wonder if they are just horrid dreams. Usualy with Diego I just slowly start stroking his head, saying "its okay" then instead of getting startled awake he drifts out of the dream and is back in his deep sleep.

Whew! Thanks so much for letting me know other dogs do this. I was getting nervous. I still hope she's not having bad dreams. I will try the subtle petting too. :p
