I see that there are a lot of people who have just recently brought home new dogs, and I wanted to stick this out there as advice: This is the BEST thing ever for crate training.

I mentioned on here before that Molly was having a horrible time with the metal cages; she was actually injuring herself, she had a bloody nose and numerous small nicks on her face and paws, trying to escape. It was to the point where my vet wanted to perscribe a sedative. We stopped putting her in there immediately, and instead got her the cage above, and she LOVES it. She doesn't just tolerate it, she actually goes in it on her own she likes it so much. And, not to make this sound like a miracle cure or anything, but she took to it from the very first day we had it, and has NEVER messed inside. (Except one time when she was sick from too much peanut butter- my fault, not hers)
I don't know if it's because it feels more like a den, because it's not metal (like the pen she was in at the pound for 2 months), or because we give her a small piece of pupperoni every time we put her in or take her out, but she just adores it. Plus, if we need to travel, we can take her with us.
SO, if you're getting ready to buy something for crate training, I suggest you skip the metal cage altogether (somehow those things got to be the standard, so they're always the first thing people try) and go right for the airline approved ones. DiegoDog suggested it to me originally, and weeks later, I still say it's the best advice I've gotten dogwise pretty much ever.
Anyway, I wanted to follow up with everyone that gave me advice about training. I'm happy to say that Molly has gone 2 weeks and a day with no in house messes. Excuse me while I do a celebration dance.
