Hi pajamajes and welcome to the board :)

7 1/2 yrs is not old for a cat. We have a member on this board that has a 20 yr old and looks wonderful!. You can see it in the pics forum. I also have a three cats, an 8yr old, 11 yr old and 13 yr old. When taken care of properly and in the right environment, a cat will live many happy years ;)

No, 7-1/2 years is not old for a cat......My cat Samie-Jo died this past Labor Day at the young age of 14 years and 8 months.
