Hello everyone....

I am in desperate need of help. I have just bought a Shih-Tzu puppy, it is 6 weeks old. I bought it over the weekend and the pet shop told me to go by on Tuesday morning to service the first vert visit and recieve the health certificate. This iall due to that it was Labor Day weekend.

Come Tuesday, first thing I take my puppy and drop him off. When I go pick him up, the pet shop owner tells me the Vet says this puppy was way too young to have even been sold and therefore she can not issue a Health certificate till 8 days from now, when the puppy will be 2 months old.

I am very scared of all this, I feel like I am getting the run around.

Please help.........

Hello Cinabonn,

Pet stores get their puppy's from backyard puppy breeders. If the pet store sold you this puppy that was too young to sell, then they should take it back and refund your money. If they refuse, then I would be making some phone calls and turn them in. If you want to keep the puppy, then I would take it to your own vet. Pet stores in our area do not sell dogs or cats, they have rescues and shelters come for adoption days. There was a pet store in Sacramento, CA that was shut down and the owners were prosecuted on felony charges because they knowingly sold sick puppies with fake papers. I encourage people to NOT buy dogs and cats from pet stores. Adopt from rescues or animal shelters.
Either make the pet store take the puppy back or take it to your own vet for a health check-up... best of luck on whatever you decide.
