View Full Version : Issues with hot-linking
I just found out that there is a way to get around hot-linking after all :D .
If you are having problems with posting pics in the forums, and they are turning up as little red X's, this is because some servers do not allow hot-linking pictures to other websites.
Solution: use "http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/" before the image url. (e.g. borrowing the link to Kaye's third tat it would appear as "http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://uplateworks.net/photos/me/tattoo3.jpg")
Some of the sites that don't allow hot-linking are:
- Geocities
- Tripod
- Yahoo
- Imagestation
The pics will take longer to load though.

Thanks Lano! This is very helpful info, I'm going to put a sticky on it :)
And dont forget... if you upgrade your membership here you can post alot more pics via attachments in every section of the board!. Happy posting.
Wow thanks Jan.. feel so honoured that one of my threads was made a sticky :D.

I've tried this anonymizer and it didn't work
Here's the message I received :
Sorry! Anonymizer's Free Private Surfing limits access to the Web site you selected.
To gain protected access to ALL Web sites on the Internet, download our FREE 7 day trial
What should I do ?

You could also use anonymouse.org.
Use "http://anonymouse.org/cgi-bin/anon-www.cgi/" before the image url.
I have tried a lot of proxy services, and feel that anonymouse is the fastest.

I just use Photobucket. Click on the URL of the photo you want to share, right click "copy" then paste it to your post.

thank you Eolight for the link to the Cute Pet Page. That's pretty neat and fun to see all the cute pets. I posted my doodle's photo when she was still a baby. She's the one with the muddy face.

Agreed! Photobucket is the easiest picture hosting site I've found. :) And for a free account, I've never run out of space yet.
