Food to calm down?

A trainer once told my mother and I that giving yogurt can calm a dog down. But then from a friend I hear most dogs are lactose intolerant.

Anyone heard about the yogurt before???

Most dogs can eat cheeses, which is a milk product containing lactose, so I would think that they could tolerate the yogurt. What does your vet say?
