Urge Tennessee Officials to Keep Dog Breeder Away From Animals for Good
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please respond promptly and forward as appropriate.
In early March, Tipton County, Tennessee, officials reportedly removed 52 severely neglected dogs from pens behind the home of Lorraine Finley, an admitted dog breeder with an additional 64 dogs in her charge. The rescued animals were said to be matted with mud and suffering from ear ailments and even blindness. Charges were filed, and the animals were apparently taken for much-needed care.
Days later, Judge William Peeler alarmingly allowed each and every one of the rescued animals to go back to the woman accused of so callously disregarding their lives and suffering, according to news sources (http://www.covingtonleader.com/news.ez?viewStory=805&Form.sess_id=748809&Form.sess_key=1110529419) .
Impolite correspondence will detract from our efforts.
Please respectfully remind His Honor that people who abuse animals rarely do so only once. Politely explain that animals whose condition is the basis of criminal charges should always be held in safety for a case’s duration and returned to their alleged abusers or neglectors only upon acquittal:
The Honorable William Peeler
Judge of Chancery Court, Tipton County

Please also thank prosecutor Duke Brasfield for vigorously prosecuting animal abusers and encourage him to see that Finley is barred for life from owning or harboring animals upon conviction:
