I never realized it but our parakeet imatates our Green Cheek. It never really phased me because this is the first keet we have had since I was a youngster. This week we have been bird sitting for sweet Nikki's keet, Spike, and I can't get over the different noises he makes - totally different from our keet. He kind of makes this trilling noise, almost sounds like a lose fan belt. Also chirps and talks at you in these different sounds. So I am wondering what kind of sounds do your parakeets make? Just curious if all keets have their own unique sound.

Mine chirps, sometimes screeches, and occasionally coo's. Guess it depends on his mood.

Other than the average parakeet noises they make, they make kissing noises. I have a lovebird that imitates my parakeets and cockatiel.

I think most birds even of the same species will still have different sounding chirps or songs, just like humans have different voices. I used to have finches and I had one male and one female, when I decided to get a different male to breed to the female and had him in with the female and the other male in another cage, I was amazed at how different their voices were. The were both zebra finches and I assumed the males would all sound the same, but nope. :) I think its really cool though.
