Hi everyone!
I just recently purchased a Basset Hound puppy, who is still with his litter mates. The problem is that the breeder had never heard of von Willebrand's disease, which is supposedly common in Bassets, and she has owned Bassets for most of her life. She has papers and health records on the father, but we don't know if she had the mother's DNA tested before she bred the puppies. She says the mother has never showed the symptoms for it, like abnormal bleeding or blood in urine, and had no trouble delivering the puppies. But, just to be sure, I want to help her find a place that will test the mother's DNA. Does anybody know the usual price for DNA testing for breed-specific disease? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks all!
