Nice pic of you and Peanut!! :D Other than the split rail, it almost looks like my dry lot with the tree-line and all... :) I can't see it very well, but is that an Eggbutt snaffle?

No just a regular Curb bit. I don't really like using a bit, would rather use a
Hackamore, but at 15 year old I don't really want to have to train her again

Great picture John, I like horses too but was never brave enough to ride much. It is easy to see why you love Peanut so much :) . By the way....how is your daughter doing now?

Hey John!
Loved the pic of you and Peanut. Your arena looked very familiar so I went back though some of my pictures and found this one of my baby Heza, who actually belongs to my good friend Diane, but he's mine whenever I want him. I use Heza for all my lessons and dressage tests since I had to sell my Scarlett.

Ha Ha John! :D
I was always western until I moved to Virginia. I had brought all my western tack with me hoping to find a new horse down here. I never thought I would convert - ever! When we joined 4-H I told my step daughter that before she could have her own horse she needed to learn how to care for one and to ride properly. Diane was the equine leader in our 4-H and is also a Level 3 centered riding instructor and I enrolled Casey in classes. After watching a few times I expressed to Diane that I would also like to learn centered riding but informed her that I was strictly Western. She said that was fine but wanted to start me out English. I agreed and have never regretted it. The whole feel of the horse is different. They GOT me John LOL! I bought Scarlett - a Percheron/Quarter Horse cross - for dressage and pleasure. My saddle (which is on Heza in the picture) cost me more than my horse!!
I have ridden western a few times since but I guess I am a total convert, but I KNOW what you're saying John ;)
