The absolute No-No's (can be fatal) are:
Avacado
Anything Caffinated
Chocolate
The things that are not generally recommended but wouldn't be fatal in small amounts:
Onion
Garlic
High Salt Items
High Sugar Items

Hope that helps

i am sure it goes without saying, but just wanted to add to the NO-NO list - alchohol.
also bad - carbonated beverages, dairy products and some seeds like apple seeds (toxic).

Just some others, compiled from various sources:
Toxic Foods
-Chocolate
-Avacado
-Caffeine
-Rhubard
-Alcohoic beverages
-Carbonated beverages
-Mushrooms
-Citrus seeds
-Apple seeds
-Pitts from fruit (cherries, peaches, etc)
-Uncooked beans (other than green beans)
-Dog or cat (any other animal) foods or treats--these aren't made for birds and contain higher levels of bacteria
-Onions (and onion powder in cooked food)
Quote from Mona at www.forthebirds.us:
"Onions can cause a fatal hemolytic anemia in dogs and cats, but, since birds red blood cells have a nucleus, this may protect the cells from severe injury that occurs in other species. Howevre, until this topic is studied, it is best to not feed onions to birds."
-Peanuts in the shell CAN BE FATAL (http://www.birdsafe.com/story_bird79.htm)
**Garlic is good for parrots. It is good for their hearts and maintains cholesterol, just like humans. Information provided from various sources, as well as my avian vet. Many people will give their parrots a clove of garlic to eat alone...most parrots love garlic. Again, it should be given in moderation to avoid an "overdose"...once or twice per week put a little fresh minced garlic in their veggies....mmmmm good!
