Help me locate

We want to replace 2 inside dogs that passed away a couple of years ago (got a cat, she's good, but not cuddly like a dog).

We got a Jack Russell puppy & it's just too hard to train, so found it a very nice family.

I prefer a dog no more than 5 lbs., but a little more personality than a Chihuahua (that was one of our dogs that passed away - had her for 14 yrs.). The other one was 13 yrs old poodle (they passed away within 6 months of each other).

Since my husband can't work anymore we need to find a dog extremely cheap, maybe a mix or maybe one that's too small to breed. We'd have to go get it, couldn't aford shipping so it needs to be near western Tennessee.

Does anyone have any idea where I can start searching on the internet - been checking the animal control & humane society here, but they don't have anything really small, & very few puppies (we like to train our dogs to fit in with our personalities so neither the dog nor us are unhappy).

If you can help we'd really appreciate it. My husband really needs the companionship/company...he's very bored at home. The dog we get would be the happiest dog on this earth...I can guarantee it!

Any help, no matter how small you think your suggestion would be, would be a help to get me started.

I just want to say Good Luck in finding the kind of dog/puppy you are looking for. I have a new kitten but she's not repacing my 17-yr old furkitty that died in June. The new kitten, Chinook, is very cuddly and loving and I am glad she came to live with me. She's 3-mo old and I've had her sinse she was 6-wks. I thought it over very carefully before I got her because of my deceased furkitty, Fuzzball. Fuzzball was my life and I miss him terribly! I took my time in selecting a kitten and finally found Chinook. Chinook takes up the void in my life and I have a lot of love to give and she knows she is very well loved and our Poodle knows he is very well loved to. GOOD LUCK!

Faith and Hope seem to be wonderful sisters. They would like them to go together, but they do weigh 15 and 18 pounds.

Scrappy-Doo was rescued from the pound. I didn’t take up much room and I wasn’t any trouble but they said that I didn’t have any more time there. Ooooo! That was just horrible! I was one of the fortunate doggies that made it out that day.

I’m a well behaved boy that LOVES to play. I enjoy checking out the world around me. I enjoy the company of other dogs and I would more than likely get along with cats. Kids?!? Oh, yeah! Bring them on! Of course, I enjoy a good lap any day!

I’m a dachshund mix that is about a year old. I’m fixed, up-to-date on my shots, and heartworm negative. I would be really great on going on vacations with you or I’ll just run around the yard with you a couple of times. I bet I could beat you!

I'm just a little guy that won't take up much room...except in your heart.

Spencer is a neutered male Chihuahua/MinPin mix, 6 lbs., approx dob 8/01. He is a bit of a scaredy cat right now, but he is coming around a little more each day. He loves to play with dogs of all sizes!

Shadow is a spayed female Chihuahua mix with an unusual and pretty brindle and white coat. She weighs only 6 pounds and was born approx Jun 2003. Shadow has a big personality in a tiny little body and can be a bit bossy, but she's very loving and enjoys being carried and held and also likes sitting on your lap. A great little gal looking for that special someone.

Olivia is a spayed female Papillion mix born June 2004. She is a very sweet and gentle girl that loves to be carried around and loved. Olivia weighs only 6 pound and is sure to steal your heart!

Jo-Jo is a neutered male Chihuahua born Aug 2003. He weighs 10 pounds and is a affectionate little dog with a big heart that will make the perfect companion for any Chi lover!
