My little 'keet Scotti was dead this am when i uncovered the 'keets cage. It was Ems favorite because he wuld step up for her. She took it kinda hard. She has already lost a grampa, great -grampa and some other family members in her short life so she knows what death means. I felt bad we had thought he was doing better.

I don't know - we had thought he was around 5. He bumblefoot so bad when i got him 1 1/2 years ago that had to have 1 toe amputated. Plus he has had to havethe bone scraped several times. He had been to th vets again a couple of weeks ago and his foot was looking better. it had stayed healed up for about 5 months kind of a record for him.

the vet said he might have developed some liver/kidney troubles from all the antibiotics etc. and to be sure to remove all the perches and disinfect everything just in case it was communicable but he didn;t think it probably was. all my keets are in onebig cage so have to watch the other guuys. i have to go somewhere tomorrow and get perches! the are sort of clinging to there toys and stuff (i put all that thru the dishwasher) and did a major disinfect on their cage. so will wait and see.

My sympathy for the loss of your keet - it is so hard to lose any of them. Hopefully the others will be OK.

i guess it is one of the hazards of keeping a 'community'cage.

Thank you Redstorm. It has just been a bad week. I have also had 2 falling episodes this week. Just all of a sudden nothing works from the waist down! i have never had two episodes in one week so i am pretty upseT! it is just terrifying to me. i just keep hoping the Drs. get it figured out soon. so thanks for your concern about Scotti, it is appreciated. He was my g-daughters favorite and the only one of my birds that would step up for her so she was pretty upset too. i know yu lost your little prettybird too. It is hard to lose any of them no matter what. thanks again

Crazeemomma, you had taken a fall? Oh my! does the doc,say why? This is a terrible week for you. It seems like one thing after another huh? Well my prayers are with you. I have the disease called fibromyaliga. Have you ever heard of this? I fall from this all the time. My knees look like my kids do, when they have fallen. When they were little. I really hope things will start to look up for you soon. Just try and relax for a couple of days. I know its hard. But your body is telling you its time for a break! Warm wishes. Gail

Redstorm -
This has been happening since i was ran over 4 years ago. But the Drs. haven't figured it out yet. But it does always happen when i am VERY TIRED. I go to move and it is like everything from the waist down is gone! no feeling, no functions work, nothing. then it lasts from 30 min to 2 hours and then i am ok. Neuro says it is Ortho and ortho insists its a neuro problem. I feel like a tennis ball sometimes! I have never before had 2 "events" as the DRs. call them this close together so i am pretty concerned. It is very unnerving. So if anybody knows anyone with a similar situation i would love to hear what their DR says!
