Hi:

My keet was on seeds only diet along with veg & fruit that he wouldn't even look at.....he liked the seeds but I did notice he threw alot of them on the floor.

Today I went out and bough Zupreem avian food avian fruit blend flavour Premium. I put it in his dish and he of course starred at it like usual with something new with 1 eye.

He eventually got hungry and ran around his cage squaking on the floor trying to get seeds....he wouldn't eat the Zupreem - what process can I do to get him to eat this.

I had tried a few samples of the Lefebr Nutriberries and he just loved them and ate continuously but I found them to be too expensive for me to buy, however I do want him on a nutritional diet and according to this website alot of you mentioned the Zupreem product.

Has anybody else had problem switching food.

Thank You

I believe that you are supposed to mix it in slowly over a period of time. Not just dump out the stuff that they have eaten for a while and serve them something new.

It can be a very slow process. My cockatoo was on an all seed diet and it took almost a year to find a food he liked and get him switched over. Once you find a pellet he likes slowly add more pellets and less seeds. Good luck.

I had trouble too with my TAG and it has taken a year for him to start eating Zupreem. He still gets a ratio of 1/3 seed and 3/4 Zupreem but I do not give him fresh food untill he eats most of the Zupreem. He was really sick a few months ago and he was not eating at all so the vet said eating a bad diet is better than no diet. He still will not touch his food when it is fresh unless he sees some seed too. Pretty smart huh? Try the weaning process everyone suggested...he will be healthier if you do.
