My dog goes nuts when I chew gum. If I eat normal food he just sits and watches unless I send him to bed or to pillow. But while I chew gum he tries to get it out of my mouth and he cries. He got into gum before and one time I fell asleep chewing some and woke up with it no longer in my mouth but diego chomping on it. Anyone else's dog have a gum faciniation?

Oh yeah, Spencer likes gum and usually leaves it chewed and lying around in sticky places. One time, when I wasn't looking, Spence went rifling through my purse and found a pack of gum. That night we all went to bed as usual and the next morning when I was trying to brush my hair I had an unusually difficult tangle in the back of my hair; couldn't brush out the blasted knot for anything. That was when I discovered that the knot was really a huge wad of gum stuck to the back of my head. It took awhile and lots of torn out hair to get the gum out. Least he could have deposited it on the bedpost.

Don't know if Awgee likes gum or not. Spencer, the yellow lab, hasn't told her about the gum stash in my purse yet. Or more likely, his lack of opposable thumbs is preventing him from opening my purse so far. But, once he figures it out there will be no end to the gum piles strewn around the house. I'm guessing Awgee would think it was at the least, a cool toy to bat around until it stuck to her paw. She hates anything sticking to her paws.
She does however LOVE turkey! She particularly likes the part about it not sticking to her paws. She was like a turkeyholic during Thanksgiving. I've never seen her beg so shamelessly. Of course she was competing with the dogs the entire holiday. But she held her own and got her fair share of goodies.
Peanut butter huh? Wish I'd have known that when Spencer lost his gum on the back of my head.
Thanks for the tip folks!!!

I was refering to Spencer's difficulty working the zipper on my purse.
In fact, Spencer is so nosy that I have to warn ladies that if they do not have their purse under lock and key, my dog will probably rifle through it. KIDS!

My Mom's old dog used to eat cigarettes. It was kind of cute, my Mom would get up from the couch to go do something, and Scruffy would jump up on the couch start drinking my Mom's coffee (no matter how hot it was), hear my Mom coming - grab the smokes and hide behind the couch. By the time you moved the couch, the pack of cigarettes was destroyed. She also ate cigarettes from the ashtrays as well. We broke her of that habit, but her coffee addiction stayed with her untill the day she died.
