Check the classifieds in the local paper. I almost bought a grey from someone in there. The only reason I didn't was because he had eight other families coming to look at it. He was going to accept the first families offer so i didn't have much of a chance. I did more research and found that I wanted a pi. I found Sophie and we are very happy together. Just hope that you find the grey you want.

have you looked for any bird sanctuaries, adoption centers, or animal rescue in your surrounding area? if you are really addicted to parrots like the rest of us, really research into adopting an african, there are sooo many that need homes.

yes I have looked really hard for the a good rescue but the only one I found you don'y really own the bird when you adopt it:( so I've been looking for a grey that needs a home online but it's not working that well.

The pet stores and bird farms arounf me (New Jersey) seel hand weaned greys for between 1200-1500 dollars. I looked in birdtalk magazine and found a small private breeder about two hours away, and got one from him for $800... So, keep up the search, because I got the hands-down coolest parrot in the world for cheap

I agree. That gives you plenty of time to get it's home all ready.

it's home has been ready for months LOL but I guess to get a good bird from a great breeder I can wait that long

So is that the grey?

The best part about babies is you get to visit them and play with them and then you get to really be their mom.
