Hello; Does anyone have any suggestions for a 15 yr. old cat that is at the beginning of Kidney failure. The Vet said the tests run from 0 to 5.....
Jellybean is at stage 1. We have him on a special food for kidney disfunction. He has been with me through Sooooo much. I know they all have to die sometime as well as we do. But it doesn't make it any easier.
Anyone been through this ordeal before? Are they generally in any pain ?
If anyone has any info....or a website etc.... I am combing the universe for Information.
Thanks
Kat

My friend's cat is 13 yrs old and just recently she vomitted out blood. My friend found something called "New Dawn" which is a health tonic used for humans and animals. And she gave her cat some. The next 2 days the cat "Clara" stopped vomitting and started to eat again. Within the next week she recovered totally. She didn't even go to the Vets or have any operation.
This health tonic is usually taken by people who have cancer or serious health problems.
Go to the website and read about it.

Thanks Kerri;
I'll give it a try. He's not vomiting; or anything out of the usual daily routine. He's sleeping a little more; but at 15 I expected that. But I had him in for his 6 month Geriatric check up. During this we realized he had dropped over 2 pounds so they did some testing. My husband & I were in a fire Jan 1 and lost everything but Jellybean. We had to jump from a second story balcony; and sustained injuries ( Broken bones etc ).... During that time Jellybean was at our vets office who took care of him untill we could become mobile again. After the hospital stay we went to a nursing home where they allowed us to bring him along :D . Considering all that he has been through......I thought the weight loss was just Stress induced.
WE are getting around again .... and glad we got out alive with JELLYBEAN !! Thanks for your input....I'll get some & give it a try. WE've been through so much this past year ; I'm not ready to loose him yet.......
Thanks :D

My cat Pickles was 18 and passed away on July 3rd of this year due to kidney disease.
He started with a lot of complications at about 16 years old, then over his last year, he steadily lost weight and vomited a lot, as well as had a few accidents here and there. He had lost so much weight and nomatter what we tried, he just got worse.
I had him put to sleep in July at the advice of my vet, who is a very compassionate and caring person.
She had tried in March to give him this immune system building IV shot of fluids and so forth but it was only temporary and he soon reverted back to his sickly state.
If I had known about this New Dawn, I probably would have at least tried it when we found out about this disease. I'd say what have you got to lose?
We have a new kitty now who we adopted but I miss my Pickles sooo much.
