Birdygirl: I don't have an aquarium but I have two gorgeous BETA fish in two separate bowls. They are both males and will fight each other to the death if they are kept together.
Actually, they are in more than just a plain bowl......they each have a huge crystal vase with beautifully colored lucite pebbles and plants.
I have had them for over 2 years now.
(I guess i do have something other than my parrots to talk about....albeit not as exciting.)

Beta's are very cool fish; great little pets and they make some very awesome bowls to keep them in. You can have a whole city for your beta these days!
We've given Beta's (and fancy bowl) as gifts on a few occassions. Of course, you need to be sure the person wants a fish... they are a great pet for someone with little room.

Well, yes they are interesting in a way. The set ups make great conversation pieces when we have guests.
One of the Betas comes to the surface every time he notices me as if to say "Feed Me". I feed them every 3rd day and they have been alive 2+years.
When I previously had Beta, I feed them every day and they died after only a short time.

No, I don't have an aquarium any more though I used to have a small 15 gallon one which was great! We moved though and had to get rid of the fish. The other day I was in a saltwater aquarium shop (right next to the bird store!!! :D), and it was SOOO amazing. Maybe someday...

We have an aquarium. We have 13 neon tetras, a couple of guppies, some zebra fish and a sword tail. As I am prime carer of our cag and the two dogs, my husband is the one who takes care of the fish.

I used to have a small 20 gallon. I made the mistake of buying a crayfish. It killed and ate all of my fish and it seemed to prefer catching it's food instead of eating the pieces of food left on the bottom of the tank. It did scavenge from the bottom when there was not anything live in there, but when I added a new fish it would chase it until it caught it and took only 5 minutes to eat it.

I have a 40 gal. tank. Well actually, it's my hubby's tank. We had an 18 gal. and in Feb. graduated to the 40 gal. He started of with 2 small angels and they have really grown. We have a place by us that will "give" us so much for the angels and we can "spend" that amount of money in fish. He also has some kind of rainbow fish that the bigger they get, the more colorful they are. I'd like a saltwater tank too, as they are sooooo pretty but I could buy a pair of jeans for what one fish costs! I'm hoping to get a turtle soon but that won't go in the tank. Just something else for me to clean! :-)

We have a 100 gal tank, with various fish.... dont think I want to name them all, half of them I dont even know what they are LOL. We also have a Beta and goldfish outside in a fountain/pond. They're freshwater, but would someday love to have a saltwater tank too, if I ever find the time for the upkeep.

I have a betta fish that was given to me for christmas by my boss - I love her (charlotte) but when I got back from a 3 day vacation, it looks as if her fins are shorter! Like they are rotting or something! I don't know what to do :( I am going to the petstore today to get some medicine I heard of..I desperately want to help her! Any advice?
