Somewhere in the acre or so of woods behind the trailer is a kitty in distress. The first yowl came from very near the door while I was cooking supper. Of course I dropped everything and ran outside. All I found was my cats fighting over my supper when I came back in.
Later a scream from the woods. Again silence as soon as I went out. The sound moves so it isn't trapped somewhere, but it ha made me almost sick with worry.
Cats in the wild aren't supposed to go into heat when it's cold, but I'm hoping that what I'm hearing is mating. There are now two mama cats being fed at the mechanics shop with kittens recently weaned.....

It never ends Jennie, due to irresponsible folks all the responsible folks do double and triple duty. So are you feeding the kittens at the mechanics shop? I know I can guess the answer to that, but am asking anyway.

Hang in ther Jen.

Nope, the mechanic feeds them, that's why he is covered up in semi feral cats. I don't think he actually owns a cat.....

Ahhhh another good soul! Nice to know your mechanic is a fellow petlover. You should tell him to join us here.

Maybe try and capture the cats to spay/neuter them? They have a program that does that here where I live, they can hopefully be released afterwards. (Personally I sometimes think if a nice person is looking out for some strays, they're better off than being in a shelter. At least one that kills)

Its really sad when I see kittens in my neighborhood walking around in the cold looking for food you can see a lot of small kittens also. I always bring out food but it is really sad to see them outside alone. My 2 kittens love to stay on the window and stare at the birds and cats in backyard.
