I could not resist from sharing this picture of my granddaughter and one of my Cockatiels. This little girl thinks she's in heaven if she has any kind of animal in her hands...... :)

This is a picture of my mom from around 1972. I never saw an animal she did not like. She was a very avid bird lover and I inherited that from her for sure!!! This was her horse and for the life of me I can not remember his name. :o ..sorry mom....I do remember how much she loved him though. Just thought I would like to share this photo.

Oh how sweet is your granddaughter! :) It took me a minute to find Louie. I felt like I was doing one of those where's Waldo things only I was looking for Louie instead! Your mom had a horse? COOL! I love horses. Did you have them then when you were growing up? Great pictures Judy. We never can seem to see enough!!

Sherry...When I was growing up yes... we had horses and dogs and cats and birds and fish and one time a baby crockodile and squirrels and on and on and on hahahahahaha there was not an animal on this earth that she did not love. She had a Pirrahna(SP?) one time too....it was NOT my job to clean his tank...to this day I can see his face and those teeth.....she also rescued police dogs and tried to rehabilatate them. Sometimes it worked most times it did not but she tried. This was in the early 70s and at that time German Shepherds were their main dogs. They euthanized them when they no longer could work for any number of reasons. That is why my mom was doing that. Things have changed now...thank God...and that is no longer a choice...they are retired gracefully and reap their benifits of a job well done.
I never thought of it but after I went to bed I was thinking WOW I just posted the 4 generations of bird lovers....My mom...me....Terri Ann(Elizabeths mom and bird lover) and Elizabeth...cool huh?

Look what your mom started...a love for animals! And by the sounds of it you all are continuing to pass that love on to the next generation. Now THAT'S cool!! :)

Judy -- your granddaughter is so precious - and she is being ooooooh so careful with your little tiel. Is that one of the babies or parents? That is so cool how your mom passed down her love for animals down to you and so on and so on. Great getting to see a picture of your mom - as you've told me about her -- it is great to put a face with what I know! Is Terri Ann on another thread -- I couldn't find her pic here? I'll have to scroll up and look again.

Those are awsome pics, & it's great to see that the love for animals has been passed down. I know my love for animals come from my dad, 'cause my mom is still scared of Spike, even though he's a little parakeet. :p
