Hi to all my new friends!
As you may know from my introduction, I just rescued a dog. She has been through hell in her short life. She was found a year ago by the side of the highway with a badly fractured pelvis and taken to the pound. The FURS group rescued her from there and have nursed her through it all. She was just treated for heartworms, etc. etc. Poor baby girl.
I have only had her 4 days now and just have been going crazy trying to come up with the perfect name for her. Bullwinkle was easy...and obvious, but this little girl's perfect name is eluding me.
She is around 2 years old and is a terrior/wolfhound/collie???? mix. She weighs 50 lbs. and is very, very sweet and loving. I'll attach a couple of pics of her.
Any suggestions would be most welcome!!!
Hugs to all - Jo & Bullwinkle & ??? :D

Hi... have you tried out the other Bullwinkle characters for names? maybe Rocky or Natasha (Tasha)? I applaud you for taking her in and to me she most looks like a "Lucky".

I am by no means a "Holy Roller" but I have been sober for 13 years and I find the title line a way to keep things in perspective. Maybe Grace would be an appropriate name.

She looks like a Penelope or a Penny to me :) .... but Grace is a good name for her too...... then you could call her Gracie......... :D

How about something alluding to how you found her, or her personality...Miracle, Hope, Sunshine, Treasure, Happy...

first, you are a wonderful person for taking her in. good to know she found a happy home. i was thinking ginger or gretta (a little european touch :-) - for common names or destiny - if you want it to relate to how you found her...

Okay, I'm going to wax Karmic here for a moment. I firmly believe she already has a name and you need only to discover it. Before I got my dog I had a name already picked out for him. But when I went to pick him up the breeder was giving him a pill and she said something to him that sounded like Ben. Eureka! The heavens opened and that was his name! I think you need only wait and spend a few minutes looking straight into her eyes and let yourself be inspired. Your first instinct will be the right one.
GD :)
PS Then again she kinda looks like a "Jewel" to me.

Oh she's adorable!. Great names here... I personally like "Roxy"... a little more feminine that Rocky.. but still the same effect.... Roxy and Bullwinkle... hehe :D . No matter what name you decide, she's a very lucky pup to have found you ;) .

I like Natasha (Tasha), she just looks like a tasha, and it goes with Bullwinkle!

Okay. The overriding majority between family, co-workers, and friends (including here) have made it pretty clear that her name HAS to be Rocky, although I am going to spell it Rockie since she's a girl.
She is answering to it already and seems to like her new name.
Thanks to all for your help!!
Hugs,
Jo

"Tasha" and "Roxy" are really cute, or, since she has all that terrier in her, something kind of adventurous?? God bless her, she looks like a sweetheart!
