David my 19 year old siamese (mix) puzzles me. He does not have any fleas and with his new haircut (shave), it is easy to see the skin under his coat when I move the hair around. I see nothing but good looking skin.
This is not a new situation but one that has been going on for quite some time.
David loves it when ever I "Scratch" him on the top of his head, the side of his face and chest.. But when ever I do the same to his back along the spine just below the shoulders he will instantly start lickng and biting on the hairs on either of his front legs. Always on the top portion if that makes any difference. He doesn't do any damage to himself. It looks like very normal grooming actions that a cat would do but it puzzles me that he does it every time that I touch him on the area of his spine. ????????
