I have a male betta, and I'm planning on getting a female, to breed them, if I can. I've been researching this, but I haven't found all the answers. Like...

How many babies to they usually have if its their first time breeding?

How long will it be till I can determine the fry as males or females?

How long will it be until I can put the babies in with an adult guppy?

Will I even be able to do that?

How long will they usually live for, supposing they don't get sick?

Thanks in advance for your help! I don't usually jump right into things unless I've researched a lot, and that's what I'm trying to do now!

there can be as many as 100+ on their first batch!

bettas can live for 5 years.....rarely more.

it isn't a good idea putting bettas with guppies because they can mistake the colours of the bettas as other bettas and well....bye bye guppies =O

males can NEVER be put together or else they can kill each other or seriously wound each other, but females are ok together.

Thanks, I knew that they can have a lot, but I got different info from lots of different places. I also knew that males can't be kept together, but that females can. So even if I put the female betta's in with the female guppy, its not OK?

But thanks for letting me know how long they live, I really was interested. And thanks for the links!

Other answers to my questions are welcome also!!
