I am looking at getting two Guinea pigs but would like to know how much work they need and what kind of equipment thanks
pigies are great i have 2 they are easy to look after.
i keep mine out side but they can be kept inside as well.
one of mine is a long haird one so i have to brush her so if you dont want to be spending a lot of time grooming then dont get a long haired one.
they dont smell, they greet you with a squeek, they need vitamin c so make sure the food you get for them has it, they love grass or hay so give them as much as possible.
also they may need their toe nails cut and ther teeth checked becouse they can over grow and have problems you can do this youself. but if the teeth have over grown you will have to take it to the vet so they can cut there teeth but to prevent this from happening you can give them things to chew.
i hope this helps just ask if you have any more questions.

They really aren't that difficult to keep. I wouldn't suggest keeping them outside unless its warm or you can keep them warm. I have one right now. You can get a good cage at petsmart for not too much. They need a base food (pellet) alfalfa or timothy (alfalfa is better for young timothy better for adult. and they need fruits and veggies everyday. Clean the cage once a week, run around time and fresh food and water. Not difficult. They make great pets for young children because they are so easy :D
i live in australia so it is prety warm over here thats why mine are outside so they can eat the grass they are great lawn mowers.
my fianceas kids had theres inside i tottaly agree they are great for kids
i forgot to add a few things guinea pigs can also have baths, but they dont have to becouse they are priety clean animals and as i said before they dont smell
also if you keep them outside make sure your cage is strong to keep dogs cats and even people away i had a pigie taken by a dog now i have the cage pad loked the rabbit that i have now was stolen but the owners where looking for a home for it anyway so i decided to keep him becouse he gets along with my male guinea pig they are best mates so keeping guinea pigs inside is an anvatige.
hope this helps

I have 3 and I clean their cages every 3 days, they get apples, oranges, celery, grapes, and other stuff every day along with pellets! They love their toys, DON'T get them yogart treats, cedar or pine bedding, roll around ball, wheels, umm I think should be it for now... good luck with the piggies!
