To all those who have lovebirds: did your's feet change colors? Scherzo's were all black when she was little, but then they started changing and were black and grey spotted. Now they are almost completely grey except for a few little black specks on each foot. It's probably normal, but I've never read about that anywhere and was curious.

Bijou's feet have always been gray. I think I read it somewhere that some luvie's have gray feet but most of them have the white feet. I don't think it has anything to do with what type of luvie it is, just if one or both of the parents carry that gene. I'm not sure about Scherzo's feet turning different color though. I've heard that their beaks will turn to a different color as the bird matures, but I don't remember reading anywhere about their feet.

Yes, Scherzo's beak was very dark at first and now as she's gotten older, it's the regular orangish color. How old was Bijou when you got her?

Hi Jenny,
I've never noticed Perky's feet changing color. They've always been pink and usually feel hot when she sits on me, so they're 'hot pink.' I didn't raise her though. She was already 3 years old when I got her. How long did the process take for Scherzo's feet to turn, how old is she?

When we got her she was just two months old and her feet were completely black. Now she's around four months and they're almost 100% light grey.

Bijou was 2 months old when we got her and she's now 1-year old. Her beak changed color too ... from orangy color to now what they call "horn" color.
