This is my very first post here...but I have a HUGE problem!!! I own a four year old neutered male cat named Katrina *we thought he was a girl when he was a kitten*. On July 27th he almost died and had to be hostitalized. He is suffering of Urethral Obstruction and couldn't urinate on his own. When we got him to the vet on July 27 they put him under anesthetic and ran a catheter to relieve his bladder. When the urine came out if was full of blood. They did x-rays, bloodwork, checked for crystals in his urine, everything to find out why his urethra was blocked. Sadly they never found out what blocked him. On July 30 we did get to bring him home. He is able to urinate on his own, but there is still blood in it. He has to eat a special diet for the rest of his life to try and prevent this from happening to him again. He really doesn't care for the food and doesn't want to eat it. We still owe hundreds of dollars in vet bills and as a stay at home mom I could really use some help. If there is anyone that would like to help us with the vet bills it would really mean a lot to me and my family. We all love our kitty very much and would like to keep him healthy. If you can help please email me at cherokeeyork@sbcglobal.net And remember every little bit counts, so if you can send something no matter how small please contact us. I'm begging everyone reading this even if you only send $1.00 it would add up. Look into your hearts and your wallet...I'm sure you can atleast spare $1.00. If anyone would like to donate I can provide you with the Vets name and number so you can check everything out. My son and I will make personal thank you cards that will include a picture of Katrina to send to everyone who helps us. Thanks and God Bless *please reply* I look forward to posting more on these boards...I'm a huge animal lover.

Hi Scoobygirl and welcome... Im very sorry to hear about your cat and wish for her speedy recovery.... however, I feel its highly innapropriate for you to ask people to send you money. Most people are struggling on a day to day basis as it is just to make ends meet and we've all been there with the vet bills. Its a well known fact that along with having pets, comes expenses. I would ask your vet if you can pay on a payment plan or contact local cat rescues in your area to see if they can help. If you are having a financial hardship, I would recommend rehoming your cat to someone who can handle the expenses. You obviously can afford an internet server. Please refrain in the future for asking for donations on this board. I wish the best for you and your family.

First I would like to clear something up...I cant afford internet service...I use a friends computer. I'm sorry that you feel its innapropraite for me to place adds like that....but I'm just trying to help my cat out. I understand people struggle on a daily basis...but I was only asking for a buck. Most people have that hidden in the coushions of their couch or the bottom of their purse. It's the cost of bubble gum or some soda. I would hate to have to give Katrina up...I've had him for a long time and I love him so much. Katrina is the kind of cat that no one else could own anyway. We left him with my dad for a few days when my son was born and Katrina kept attacking him and everything. When people come over we have to put him up for the same reason. He is just a one family cat. There are many times I see people taking donations for many different reason....like if a kid gets sick and the family could use the help. Would your advice to them be to give their child to a family that could afford the medical bills??? I have been trying everything to raise the money for my cat....turnning to the internet was my last resort. I'm not asking the people who are having a hard time to donate, only people who can spare something. And I'm not asking for someone to front the whole bill....only $1.00.

The reason I addressed this is because I received complaints from other members that also felt this was innapropriate. Again, I ask you to refrain from trying to make people feel guilty into giving you money. Many people have had hard times, have stood on their own two feet and resolved the situation. There are so many scams out there, its sad for the legitimate people that really need help. I for one will never give someone I dont know money.. thats me. Where theres a will, theres a way.

I'm not trying to make people feel guilty at all. And if someone thinks this is a scam I can provide the name and number to my cats vet so they can check everything out. I'm sorry if anyone was offended by my add...whats wrong with trying to help my cat??

I've asked you twice now and you continue to plead your case. The info is there if anyone wants to send you money. I wish you and your family the best.
